Default Delete Behavior. When you delete a message from the Inbox, Postbox moves the message to Gmail/Trash, causing it to be removed from ALL other labels/folders as well. When you delete a message from within a label/folder, Postbox removes the message from the current label/folder only, and the message remains in other labels/folders.

Unfortunately according to the documentation, the standard Gmail service doesn't have the ability to permanently delete messages, only to move them to the trash. However, there is the option to use the Advanced Gmail Service instead which provides the full power of the Gmail API, and does have a delete method. Couple of things to note:
